Hans Huth (art historian, 1927)

Hans Huth , actually Karl Johann Huth (* 1927 in Worms ; † June 24, 2010 ), was a German art historian and monument conservator .

Life

Hans Huth first studied architecture in Darmstadt , but then art history, classical archeology and history in Heidelberg , where he received his doctorate in 1957. In 1958 he began his work as a monument conservationist at the State Office for Monument Preservation in Karlsruhe, and from 1972 at the Karlsruhe branch of the Baden-Württemberg State Monument Office . At the end of March 1989 he retired.

He was responsible for editing the art inventory volumes in North Baden. Since 1981 he has devoted himself to making lists of cultural monuments in the city districts of Mannheim and Baden-Baden as well as in large parts of the Rhein-Neckar district
