Hans Jaax

Hans Jaax (born March 12, 1933 in Friedrich-Wilhelms-Hütte ; † March 14, 2000 ) was a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school and secondary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith . After studying engineering and studying to become a teacher at vocational schools, he worked in the school service, most recently as director of studies. Jaax had been a member of the SPD since 1964. He was represented in various party bodies. He was a member of IG Metall .

MP

From May 30, 1985 to May 31, 1995 Jaax was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in constituency 030 Rhein-Sieg-Kreis IV.

He was a member of the Troisdorf municipal council from 1975 to 1993 and was also mayor here . From 1970 to 1975 and from 1979 to 1981 Jaax was a member of the district council of the Rhein-Sieg district .

In March 1995, District President Franz-Josef Antwerpes appointed him provisionally as Mayor of Sankt Augustin after the city council had dissolved itself due to irregularities in the local elections the year before and mayor Anke Riefers had lost her office.
