Hans Jendritzki

Hans Jendritzki (born July 25, 1907 in Wolmirstedt , † March 17, 1996 in Hamburg ) was a German watchmaker and specialist author.

After an apprenticeship as a watchmaker with his father and the final year of his apprenticeship at Kitzki, Jendritzki worked as a precision watchmaker in Altona and passed the examination to become a master watchmaker in Berlin in 1936. As early as 1934 he had taken over the editing of the specialist magazine "Uhrmacherkunst". In 1940 he was appointed to the State Watchmaking School in Hamburg as a teacher and trainer .

Jendritzki wrote numerous specialist articles and books on the watchmaking trade. As a watchmaker, he invented improvements to the escapement with constant force for balance clocks , reduction gears and the manufacture of central seconds hands .

He quickly made a name for himself as the author of numerous articles in specialist journals. Corresponding specialist books followed, which belong to the basic literature of many watch enthusiasts. He was characterized by great expertise and easily understandable presentation in words and images. Some of his works have been translated into ten languages. Since 2003, the works of Hans Jendritzki have been published again by the Verlag Historische watch books .
