Hans Joachim Paap

Hans Joachim Paap (* 1960 in Braunschweig ) is a German architect .

Hans Joachim Paap studied architecture at the Technical University of Braunschweig , where he passed his diploma examination in 1990. He then worked a. a. in the architectural office Jourdan and B. Müller in Frankfurt am Main. From 1995 to 2001 Paap was assistant to Meinhard von Gerkan at the Institute for Building Design at the TU Braunschweig . He has been working in the gmp office since 1997 - von Gerkan, Marg and Partner , and in 2009 he became an associated partner at gmp.

Paap has been a member of the Association of German Architects BDA since 2013 , in 2019 he became deputy chairman of the Berlin regional association of the BDA, and in 2016 chairman of the Hans Schaefers Foundation. Paap is also active in prizes for architecture competitions and as a speaker at professional and architectural events. He is known as an “internationally recognized architect for stadium constructions” and as the “architect of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital airport”, which he “designed”.
