Hans Kappertz

Hans Kappertz (born March 1, 1888 in Aachen ; † July 13, 1954 there ) was a German politician (SPD).

Live and act

After attending primary school and the preparatory work in Aachen, Kappertz was trained at the Cornelimünster teacher training college. Around 1908 Kappertz joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Also in 1908 he got his first teaching post. From 1913 Kappertz worked at the elementary school of the city of Aachen. In 1914 he married. From 1914 to 1916 Kappertz took part in the First World War. After the November Revolution of 1918 he became city councilor and parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the city council in Aachen.

During the war in the Ruhr, Kappertz was expelled from his home country for 13 months by the Belgian occupation government together with his family because of the publication of a replacement newspaper. From 1930 to 1932 Kappertz sat in the Prussian state parliament . In the Reichstag election of July 1932 , Kappertz was elected to the Reichstag , in which he represented constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen) until the election in November of the same year. In 1933 he was briefly taken into protective custody.

Furthermore, Kappertz was a member of the district and district teachers 'council of Aachen, co-founder and long-term board member of the local section of the elementary school teachers' association and the union of German elementary school teachers. In addition, Kappertz was active in the local political association and the workers welfare of the administrative district of Aachen as well as on the board of the local political association of the Upper Rhine district.

From 1946 to April 1953 he held the office of the school council and (senior) government councilor in Aachen.
