Hans Leberle

Hans Leberle (born August 29, 1878 in Munich , † August 16, 1953 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) was a German brewing scientist .

Leberle began his professional career in 1909 as head of the combustion technology laboratory at the Weihenstephan Academy . From 1918 until his retirement in 1949 he was a professor at the academy. In 1927 he presented a process for brewing what is known as champagne wheat to the public .

For his services, Leberle was made an honorary citizen by the city of Freising .
