Hans Mainka (born July 28, 1927 ) is a former German football player who was active in Altenburg in 1951/52 in the GDR Oberliga , the highest league in GDR football .

Athletic career

The 24-year-old Hans Mainka got into the GDR league late. He played there on December 30, 1951 in the 18th league game of the company sports community (BSG) Stahl Altenburg in the away game at Rotation Babelsberg, his first league game. In the 1: 2 defeat he was called up as a defender. In the next two games, player- coach Herbert Klemig used him as a center forward, but in the following games Mainka played mainly in defense. Finally he came to 18 league appearances in the 1951/52 season, in the second game he scored his only point goal. At the end of the season, the Altenburger had to relegate to the GDR league .

For the season 1952/53 Mainka was nominated as a striker for the GDR league team, which now took on as BSG Motor, but he was not used in any of the 24 league games. Mainka only reappeared at Motor Altenburg in the 1954/55 season. Under the new coach Rudolf Walsek, he played the first league game in which he was used as a right defender. After a break of five league games, Walsek tried again with Mainka as a defender, but then let him pause for four point games. From the 12th to the 15th match day Mainka was used as a striker. Although he had already scored a goal in the attack the first time, the coach finally renounced Mainka.

In his short career in Altenburg, Hans Mainka only made 18 games in the upper league and six games in the GDR league in two seasons with 62 possible point games. He scored one goal every season. There were no more appearances in the upper league.
