Hans Porwoll

Hans Carl Theodor Porwoll (born September 28, 1898 in Hamburg ; † April 13, 1984 there ) was a German landscape and marine painter .

Life

Porwoll studied at the Staatliche Kunstgewerbeschule in Hamburg under Julius Wohlers and Arthur Illies . He painted landscape motifs, a. a. from the Port of Hamburg and the Elbe , preferably in Hamburg-Rissen and the German Baltic Sea island of Rügen , where he stayed from 1933 to 1942. For this purpose he created portraits. In the New Rump it is assigned to late impressionism .

His works were also shown during the Nazi era. a. from the art association in Hamburg . He is represented in the holdings of the Mönchgut museums in Göhren .
