Hans Rudolf Henche

Hans Rudolf Henche (born June 29, 1940 in Neu-Isenburg ) is a German orthopedic surgeon . His specialties are arthroscopy of the joints, especially the knee joint , of which he is one of the pioneers in Germany, as well as knee prostheses , endoscopic cruciate ligament replacement and meniscal surgery .

Life

Henche's dissertation in 1968 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Frankfurt dealt with disorders of the water and electrolyte balance in delirium tremens .

From 1970 Henche worked at the Orthopedic Clinic, Department of Surgery at the University of Basel , where he began with his first arthroscopic interventions. Hans Rudolf Henche received his orthopedic traumatological training at the University of Basel with Professors Chapchal, Morscher, Allgöwer, W. Müller and others in the years 1970 to 77. In 1970 the first knee joint arthroscopy was performed in the Orthopedic Clinic Basel and in the following years that diagnostic and therapeutic system further developed. In 1973 an award-winning film about knee arthroscopy was made. 1974 the first publication on the technique and results of arthroscopy. In 1977, Henche the Department (later Department) of Orthopedics of the district hospital Rheinfelden (Germany). Under Henche's direction, the clinic developed into a nationally known center for arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement. In 2002, the orthopedic and trauma surgery departments were merged to form a clinic for orthopedic surgery. Until mid-2005, Henche was the chief physician of this clinic, which is now part of the clinics in the Lörrach district . Numerous stays in development service in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. The book The Arthroscopy of the Knee Joint , first published in 1978, was the first German-language monograph on arthroscopy of the knee joint and was widely used in German-speaking countries. In 1981 the first German-language arthroscopy course was organized by HR Henche in Arosa Switzerland. On the occasion of the second course, the German-speaking Working Group for Arthroscopy (AGA) was founded in Arosa-Zurich, of which Henche was President from 1988–1989. 1985 Habilitation at the University of Basel. Title: "Surface pressure in the femoral patellar plain bearing". In 1988 the journal "Arthroscopy" Springer Verlag Heidelberg was founded. In addition, he was chairman of the Rheinfelden Community Foundation, founded in 2006, and chairman of the Friends of the Rheinfelden District Hospital until 2020

From 2008 to 2012 Henche was also the chairman of the old rulers of the Old Strasbourg Burschenschaft Germania , of which he has been a member since his studies in Tübingen in 1960.
