The Kliniken des Landkreis Lörrach GmbH is the private sector sponsor of the hospitals in the three towns of Lörrach , Rheinfelden (Baden) and Schopfheim in the south-west of Baden-Württemberg, which were formerly under the direct control of the Lörrach district .

The clinic association founded on January 1, 1994 has around 600 inpatient beds. The company has around 1,500 employees, making it one of the largest employers in the district.

The sole shareholder of the GmbH is the district of Lörrach. Since July 1, 2010, the managing director of the GmbH has been Armin Müller (previously Dieter Ahlbrecht for many years), the chairman of the supervisory board is district administrator Marion Dammann.

Locations

Environmental management tested in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 is used at all three locations . In 2002, the clinic network was certified for the first time in accordance with the EC Eco-Audit Regulation (E-MAS II), and again in 2005 and 2008 for three years each. The significant energy and CO 2 savings achieved, as well as the use of a photovoltaic system and wood chip heating, led to the Lörrach location being awarded the seal of approval for an energy-saving hospital by the German Association for the Environment and Nature Conservation .

As part of a nationwide unique pilot project, the clinic locations in the district will offer transnational services in the areas of acute medicine and rehabilitation for the neighboring Switzerland (cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft ) from 2007 to the end of 2014 ; conversely, certain services from health institutions in the two Swiss cantons can be used in specialist areas that are not economically viable in the Lörrach district.

There are three clinics in the sponsorship:

The Lörrach District Hospital cooperates with the St. Elisabethen Hospital in Lörrach .
