Hans Schnurrbusch

Hans Schnurrbusch (born December 31, 1922 ) was a soccer goalkeeper who played in the East German league in the 1950s with Industrie Leipzig and Motor Wismar .

Athletic career

After Schnurrbusch had already stood in the goal in a league game for the Saxon ZSG Industrie Leipzig in the 1949/50 season, he switched to the league competitor ZSG Anker Wismar on the Baltic Sea in the spring of 1950. There he came in the last game of the season on June 17, 1950 in the playoff for relegation against SG Altenburg as a replacement for the previous goalkeeper Alfred Heldt used. Wismar lost 3-2 in front of 12,000 spectators in Magdeburg and had to play in the second-rate GDR league the next season .

In the league season 1950/51 Schnurrbusch played all 18 point games and the playoff for the league promotion against the tied SG Dynamo Potsdam. ZSG Anker won 2-1 in front of 6,500 spectators and thus managed to return to the top division immediately. Schnurrbusch was used from the first day of the league season 1951/52 in the now BSG Motor Wismar calling team and played 31 of the 36 point games. At the end of the season Wismar was after 22 defeats in 17th place and thus landed on a relegation rank.

In the league season 1952/53, Schnurrbusch was again a regular goalkeeper at Motor Wismar and was in goal in all 24 point games. He was able to maintain his regular player status until 1955. It was only in the 1956 season, when the calendar year rhythm was played for the first time, that Fritz Schinski replaced him as number one in the Wismarer Tor. Schnurrbusch came only once on the 3rd match day in the GDR league encounter Dynamo Schwerin against Motor Wismar (1: 1) in the first team. At the age of 33 he said goodbye to competitive sports after 32 league and 68 GDR league league games.
