Hans Toch

Hans Toch (born April 17, 1930 in Vienna ) is an American social psychologist and criminologist of Austrian origin.

Toch emigrated to the USA with his family as a child, studied psychology at Brooklyn College ( BA , 1952) and social psychology at Princeton University , where he received his Ph.D. received his doctorate . From 1968 until his retirement, Toch taught as professor of criminology at the State University of New York in Albany .

Toch made significant contributions to prison research .
