Hans Trott (Mayor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Trott is the first documented mayor of the city of Bozen . He is attested as the highest municipal official in 1449 and again in 1458, 1462 and 1468.

The Habsburg territorial city had in 1442 by King Friedrich III. received an epoch-making city council privilege, which provided for the establishment of an expanded, twelve-member city council , from whose midst a mayor was apparently also appointed.

Trott is proven around 1450 with house ownership and citizenship . In 1458 he lived in the former inn on the Stern under the Bozen arcades (house no. 12). Furthermore, in 1451 he also served as district judge of Gries and in 1467 as administrator of the local Heiliggeistspital .
