Born in Berchtesgaden, the son of an administrative officer, he has always remained true to his homeland. From an early age he played children's roles on the stage there, the Berchtesgadener Bauerntheater, and is said to have participated in feature films very early on (whose titles, however, cannot be made out at the moment). As a young man he was seen in the cast of peasant theater pieces (Das redseidene Höserl , broadcast in 1970 as Das verflixte Höserl) , which were recorded for television. In addition, Vonderthann worked in the 1970s with small roles in films with a white and blue plot background, including some adaptations of Ludwig Ganghofer's models . In addition, he took on several roles in radio plays produced in Munich as well as a number of records (e.g., Bei uns in Oberbayern ). The marriage with the actress Irmi Vonderthann (* Berchtesgaden September 29, 1941), who also appeared as an actress at the local farmer's theater, has two sons.
