Hans Westerhof (born November 24, 1948 in Terborg ) is a Dutch football coach and ex-professional footballer.

Career

As a player

From 1975 to 1977 with BV Veendam and 1977 to 1981 with Cambuur Leeuwarden, Hans Westerhof played in the honor division .

As a trainer

After retiring at the age of 33, Westerhof first coached a club in 1982. For three years - until 1985 - he was the coach of the ONS Sneek amateur club. He then headed the Asser Christelijke Voetbalclub for three years. In 1988 he signed a contract with FC Groningen, where he worked as a coach for four years. This was followed by a year as head coach at the top Dutch club PSV Eindhoven and a year as head of the club's youth department. He then returned to Groningen for another three years.

In 1997, Hans Westerhof moved to the Dutch record champions Ajax Amsterdam, whose excellent youth department he was responsible for for three years. In the meantime he was active as an interim coach in the 1999/2000 season. From 2000 to 2002 he was head coach at Willem II Tilburg.

In the 2002/2003 season he worked as a coach abroad for the first time and took over the Mexican first division club Deportivo Guadalajara. This was followed by a two-year break and a one-year engagement with the American professional club CD Chivas USA. In the 2007/2008 season he was in charge of a club from Mexico again - this time Necaxa. From summer to December 2008 he was coach at the Dutch first division club Vitesse Arnheim.
