Hansruedi Fuhrer (born December 24, 1937 in Bern ) is a former Swiss football player .
Club career
He began his career in 1958 in his hometown with the BSC Young Boys , with whom he won the Swiss championship the following year . In 1966 he moved to the Grasshopper Club Zurich and from there three years later to FC St. Gallen . From March to July 1970 he acted there after the dismissal of coach Albert Sing as a player- coach and ended his career at the end of the season.
National player
On May 26, 1965, Hansruedi Fuhrer made his debut for the Swiss national football team in Basel's St. Jakob-Park against the German national team . Against the same opponent in the same stadium, he played his last of 19 international matches for the Confederates on April 17, 1968. At the 1966 World Cup in England , Switzerland was in the squad . Fuhrer was used in all preliminary round matches against Germany, Spain and Argentina .
