Hanyuan County ( Chinese 汉源县 , Pinyin Hànyuán Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Ya'an in the central west of southwest China 's Sichuan Province . It has an area of 2,349 km² and has a population of 350,000 (2004). Its main town is the community of Shirong (市 荣 乡).

At the community level, the district is made up of eight large communities and thirty-two communities .
