Harald Bauer

Harald Bauer (born April 24, 1949 in Langendorf ) is a German physicist and politician ( CDU ).

education and profession

After attending the polytechnic high school , Bauer graduated from the adult education center in Weißenfels in 1969 . From 1965 to 1968 he completed an apprenticeship as an electric locomotive builder in Dessau . From 1969 to 1973 he studied physics at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and graduated with a degree in physics. From 1973 to 1974 he worked as an economist at LPG Altmark in Kerkau . From 1974 to 1979, Bauer was a city councilor at the City Council of Ilsenburg and from 1979 to 1988 city district councilor for the Magdeburg- Mitte district council . From 1988 to 1990 he was deputy chairman of the council of the Burg district . Since 1991 he has been a consultant and head of department in the Ministry for the Environment and Nature Conservation of Saxony-Anhalt .

Bauer had been a member of the GDR CDU since 1968 and was a member of the Langendorf municipal council from 1969 to 1973. From 1974 to 1979 he was a member of the CDU district executive committee of Wernigerode and of the Ilsenburg city council. From 1979 to 1988 he was a member of the CDU district council Magdeburg-Mitte and the district assembly Magdeburg-Mitte. From 1988 to 1990 he was a member of the Burg CDU district committee. From 1994 he was a member of the CDU district executive committee in Magdeburg.

In March 1990, Bauer was elected to the Volkskammer for the CDU in the Magdeburg constituency. In October 1990 he was one of the 144 MPs sent to the Bundestag by the People's Chamber . He was a member of the Bundestag until December 1990.
