The reason for the coat of arms: “The scythe and hoe in the green shield symbolize the rural character of the former municipality, the wave flank stands for the river Greißlau, on the banks of which the village is located. The covering of the flank with green leaves stands for the former rich forest, some of which still exists.
The coat of arms was designed by the heraldist Ernst Albrecht Fiedler from Magdeburg and approved by the Halle regional council. ”The approval date is December 7, 1998; the coat of arms roll number is 80/1998 (source: documentation approval documents state main archive Saxony-Anhalt). |
