The war memorial Langendorf is a listed war memorial in the district of Langendorf in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the memorial is listed under registration number 094 80044 as a monument .

The war memorial in Langendorf is a joint memorial for the fallen soldiers of the First World War in the localities of Langendorf, Untergreißlau and Obergreißlau . The war memorial is a wall at each end of which there is a stele . Another stele in the middle of the wall is crowned by a soldier with a sword pointing downwards and bears the inscription Your heroes, who died in the World War 1914–1918, the grateful communities of Langendorf Untergreißlau and Obergreißlau . To the left and right of the stele there are three panels each with the names of the fallen and missing persons in the wall.

Above and below the left panels is the inscription

NOBODY HAS A GREATER LOVE THAN
THAT HE LETS HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS

which quotes the biblical verse John 15,13  LUT . Above and below the right panels is written with the words

WHO FIND DEATH IN THE HOLY FIGHT,
ALSO REST IN FOREIGN EARTH IN THE FATHERLAND

the final verse of the marching song - often quoted on war memorials of that time - for the voluntary snipers of the entire Schwarzburg House, Out into the Distance with Loud Horns, by Albert Methfessel (1813).

An additional plaque with the inscription In honor of the victims of the Second World War for the fallen of the Second World War was added later. The monument is bordered from the front by a semicircular fence and was set into a small slope.
