Marcel Schied (born July 28, 1983 in Weißenfels ), after his marriage to Marcel von Walsleben-Schied , is a German football player who, as a right-footed offensive player , is usually used in attack .

Career

Youth in Saxony-Anhalt

Schied, who was born in the Halle district of the GDR , began his footballing career during the fall of the Berlin Wall in his home town of Langendorf , where he initially played for Grün-Weiß Langendorf. At the age of eight he moved to the neighboring Weißenfels to Rot-Weiß Weißenfels, until he left the city, which is now in Saxony-Anhalt all of Germany , in 1997 and joined VfL Halle in 1896 , for which he subsequently spent a year as a C-youth , then played a year as a B-youth. In 1999, Schied took part in a course in Duisburg with a selection of countries , which made FC Hansa Rostock aware of Schied, whereupon he moved to Rostock .

Beginnings at Hansa Rostock

At the Mecklenburg Bundesliga club , Schied first played another year in the B-Jugend, before starting in 2000 for Hansa's A-Jugend in the youth regional league, for which he remained eligible to play until 2002. As early as the summer of 2001, Schied was also involved in the game and training operations of the Rostock men's area, so that on August 26, 2001 he made his debut for Rostock's second team in the fourth-class Oberliga Nordost . In the further course of the season, Schied came to another five missions for the reserve team trained by Peter Ränke, which at the end of the 2001/02 season took fourth place in its league season.

During the season, Schied had also been able to score his first goal for Hansa's reserve, but also attracted the attention of the German Football Association through his performance, especially in Rostock's A-youth . On October 11, 2001, Schied was the first to play in the U-19 national team that played against Turkey in qualifying for the U-19 European Championship in 2002 . In the friendlies, but also in the further course of the qualification, U-19 national coach Uli Stielike Schied used several times and finally called him into the German squad for the final round in Norway . In this the team reached the final, which was lost against Spain with 0: 1. Schied was used both in a preliminary round match and in the final, but ultimately remained without his own goal. The goal scored in a friendly against England on February 14, 2002 remained the only goal of Arbitration during his nine appearances in the dress of the U-19 national team.

Afterwards, Schied moved up to Germany's U-20 team , for which he completed a total of four missions. In the meantime, he had outgrown the U-19 teams in Rostock and was completely transferred to the men's division, where he was initially assigned to the reserve team now trained by Andreas Zachhuber and scored 24 goals in 32 missions in the 2002/03 season of the Oberliga Nordost. As a result, Schied took part in the training operations of the Rostock professional team during the season, which fought against relegation from Germany's top division under Armin Veh in the 2002/03 season . In this, however, Schied could not prevail against the established strikers in the Rostock team, such as Magnus Arvidsson or Rade Prica , and was only used twice as a substitute.

Loan players in Osnabrück and Unterhaching

At the beginning of the 2003/04 Bundesliga season , Schied, who had signed a contract with Hansa until June 2006, was awarded to VfL Osnabrück due to the continued low chances of playing in the Rostock professional squad , which initially under coach Frank Pagelsdorf was promoted to the 2003 / 04 participated in the 2nd Bundesliga . Although Osnabrück rose, despite the interim coach change from Pagelsdorf to Thorsten Haas , as bottom of the table in the Regionalliga . However, Schied had been able to distinguish himself as the top scorer of his team with a total of 12 goals in his 33 second division appearances and thus fulfilled the expectations placed on him.

In order to allow Schied to continue playing in the 2nd Bundesliga, Hansa then planned to loan him out again, which both FC Erzgebirge Aue and SpVgg Unterhaching showed interest. Schied finally decided on SpVgg, which was trained by Andreas Brehme at the beginning of the 2004/05 season . However, Schied was unable to build on the performance of the previous year, so that with a total of six goals during his 33 missions he was only second best striker Unterhachings behind Francisco Copado . In contrast to Osnabrück, the SpVgg managed to stay in the 2nd Bundesliga after the club had reacted to the threatened relegation by installing Heribert Deutinger as the new head coach at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2004, Schied played for a German national team for the last time when he was used on August 7, 2004 for the U-21 selection against Lithuania .

From top striker to supplementary player

In the summer of 2005, Schied returned to FC Hansa, who had suffered relegation from the Bundesliga just a few weeks earlier. Under coach Jörg Berger , Schied then succeeded in asserting himself against Arvidsson and Prica as regular players at the beginning of the 2005/06 season . However, Hansa started the season poorly and after two defeats at the beginning replaced coach Berger with Frank Pagelsdorf, under whom Schied had already played in Osnabrück. Even under Pagelsdorf, Schied initially remained a regular player, but came from the winter break, in which Hansa signed the striker Enrico Kern , but sometimes only played as a substitute. Nevertheless, Schied had played in all 34 games of the season and scored nine goals, making him the top goalscorer of his team, as in Osnabrück. In the meantime, he had already extended his contract, which expired at the end of the season, by two more years to 2008.

In the following 2006/07 season , however, Schied lost his regular place in the Rostock team, since Pagelsdorf mostly used Enrico Kern, Đorđije Ćetković or Amir Shapourzadeh . So Schied only made 21 appearances and was only able to score one goal, but still had a share in the promotion to the Bundesliga at the end of this season. Due to the commitment of Victor Agalis and Addy-Waku Mengas , Schied was only considered a supplementary player in the 2007/08 season , who was only used twice at the start of the season and then ran exclusively for the Rostock reserve team in the Oberliga Nordost. During the winter break, Schied received the approval to change clubs, so that he did not experience the direct relegation of the professional team at the end of the season in Rostock.

She was in Braunschweig and Jena

In January 2008, Schied found a new employer in the second division club FC Carl Zeiss Jena , with whom he first negotiated a contract for the rest of the 2007/08 season . In the team supervised by Henning Bürger , Schied immediately established himself as a regular player and was used in all 17 back-round games. However, the team had spent the winter break on the penultimate place in the table and was therefore in acute danger of relegation. At the end of the season, Jena finally found itself, despite the five goals scored by Schied, in the last place in the final table and thus descended into the 3rd division , which was newly created in summer 2008 , whereupon Schied left the club after only six months.

However, Schied followed Jena into the third division by signing a contract with Eintracht Braunschweig that was limited to summer 2009 in August 2008 . Under Torsten Lieberknecht , Schied then became a regular player in Braunschweig, played 31 season games and scored a total of six goals. The 2008/09 season was only moderately successful for Braunschweig, so that the club was only able to position itself in the lower half of the table.

Return to Rostock

In April 2009, the FC Hansa Rostock announced the renewed obligation to arbitrate from summer 2009. After relegation from the Bundesliga in 2008, the club was in danger of relegation in the second division season 2008/09 , so that Andreas Zachhuber, who is now again acting as a coach, and the former Hansa player René Rydlewicz, who was recently appointed as manager, brought about a change in the Hansa -Team and also resorted to Schied, who both knew from earlier times at Hansa. In the first half of the 2009/10 season , Schied, who had signed a contract until 2012, was one of the regulars in the Rostock attack and completed 14 missions in which he scored a total of two goals. Even before the winter break, however, Schied was used less and less, so that he occasionally played for the Rostock reserve team in the fourth-class regional league. After the winter break, Schied was then only considered a supplementary player in the professional team and was only considered once by Zachhuber, as the club had committed another competitor, Garðar Jóhannsson, for the forward position. While Schied was therefore still occasionally called up in the reserve team, the professional team was again in acute danger of relegation, so that Zachhuber was finally replaced by Thomas Finck and Marco Kostmann , the Schied used three times in the 2nd Bundesliga. Nevertheless, the club finished third from bottom of the table at the end of the season and was relegated to the 3rd division after the following relegation games.

For Schied, however, the relegation turned out to be advantageous, as he played a key role in the planning of the new coach Peter Vollmann . So Schied established himself again as a regular player and was used in 36 of the 38 season games. With eleven goals scored, the second most of all Rostock players, Schied contributed to the direct return of the Hanseatic League to the 2nd Bundesliga. In addition, Hansa also won the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Cup this season , in which Schied also made two appearances.

In the second division season 2011/12 , Schied received through obligations Marek Mintál and Tino Semmer more competition in the Rostock attack, so that he came to 14 missions during the first half of the season, but only completed two games over the full season. In addition, he only scored one goal in these games, but coach Wolfgang Wolf , who had taken over from Vollmann at the end of the first half of the season at relegation-threatened FC Hansa, put him on the starting line-up in the first two games of the second half, with Schied scoring his second goal of the season. After the winter break, in which Hansa had signed another striker in Freddy Borg , Wolf only occasionally resorted to Schied. So he came on five times by substitution in the second division and played temporarily again for the reserve team in the league. At the end of the season, Rostock's second division team finally rose from bottom of the table in the third division, whereupon Schied received no new contract offer.

Change to Kiel

In June 2012, the Kiel SV Holstein , who played in the regional league , announced the obligation to arbitrate for the 2012/13 season , whereby Schied agreed on a two-year contract with the club. The contract has meanwhile been extended, but then terminated in June 2014 at the request of arbitration. In summer 2014 he moved to TSG Neustrelitz . In 2016, the Hamburg top division club TuS Dassendorf announced the commitment of von Walsleben-Schied.
