Harald Jaksche

Harald Jaksche (born May 29, 1933 in Graz ) is an Austrian Slavist.

Life

After graduating from the Bundesrealgymnasium Linz in 1952, he studied Slavic Studies ( Josef Matl , Linda Sadnik ), art history, psychology and philosophy in Graz (1952–1955, 1956–1958) and Zagreb (1955–1956). After graduating as Dr. phil. 1958 at the University of Graz and the habilitation for the subject Slavic Studies 1964 at the University of Saarland he was from 1967 to 1968 professor for Slavic studies at the University of Mannheim , from 1968 to 1978 professor for Slavic studies at the University of Friborg , from 1969 to 1978 professor for Slavic Studies at the University of Bern and from 1978 to 1996 Professor of Slavic Studies at the University of Graz.
