Harald Klingelhöller (* 1954 in Mettmann ) is a sculptor whose works can be found in numerous international private and public collections.

life and work

Klingelhöller studied at the State Art Academy in Düsseldorf . Since 1993 he has held a professorship for sculpture at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe . Klingelhöller is married to the sculptor Pia Stadtbäumer , he lives and works in Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe. In 2013 he received the Baden-Württemberg Culture Prize for his life's work (shared with Günther Wirth ). He has been Rector of the Karlsruhe Art Academy since autumn 2018.

Klingelhöller has been creating sculptures since the late 1970s, the concept of which is based on the title of the work as well as on the plastic form. The metaphorical-poetic formulation of the work's title is in tension with the form, which results in a deliberate openness with regard to possible associations and possible interpretations for the viewer.
