Harald Korte

Harald Karl Korte (born October 4, 1934 in Hagen ; † October 24, 2014 there ) was a German entrepreneur and association official .

education

Harald Korte completed his mechanical engineering studies in 1957 at the engineering school for mechanical and electrical engineering in Hagen, one of the predecessor institutions of the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences .

Act

Harald Korte was co-owner and long-standing managing partner of the Hagen drop forge Schöneweiss, now part of Mahindra Forgings Europe .

From 1995 to 2007 he was President of the South Westphalian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hagen (SIHK). He was a member of the General Assembly for 32 years and campaigned for the interests of the local economy. One focus of his work as SIHK President was the expansion of the technical training facilities of the SIHK in Hagen, Hemer and Lüdenscheid . For Harald Korte, the inter-company training of junior technical staff in conjunction with other companies was particularly important in order to ensure a high quality of vocational training.

Korte promoted technology transfer between companies and universities in South Westphalia , especially the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences and its predecessor institutions. As SIHK President, he co-initiated the combined technical courses in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, for which the university has made him an honorary senator. On January 28, 2007, the Audimax at the Hagen site of the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences was named in his honor of the Harald Korte lecture hall .

In November 2007, Korte was appointed honorary professor at the State Technological University in Kostroma because of his commitment to internships for Russian students in German companies .

Honors

In 2008 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, for his socio-political and cultural commitment, especially for the Hagen Philharmonic Orchestra. He also initiated the part-time technical joint courses at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences and was appointed one of its honorary senators for this purpose .
