Harald Loebermann (born October 14, 1923 in Ansbach ; † July 17, 1996 in Nuremberg ) was a German architect and art collector. He was not only active in Nuremberg with numerous projects. He played a key role in the construction of the Meistersingerhalle .

Life

In 1952 Loebermann joined the Merkur chain's construction department before opening his own office in Nuremberg in 1954. Loebermann succeeded in acquiring over half of the prints from Lyonel Feininger and supplemented them with more than 50 watercolors and drawings from a period from 1910 to 1955. This makes the collection one of the artist's most important worldwide. Particularly valuable parts of the Feininger bundle are the numerous woodcuts made between 1918 and 1920 and the watercolors made between 1937 and 1955 from his time in the United States. The Chemnitz Art Collections have acquired the Harald Loebermann collection.
