Harald Menzel (* 1948 ) is a former German racing driver and today's entrepreneur.

Career

Harald Menzel started his racing career at the end of the 1960s as a privateer in touring car racing . With a Fiat-Abarth 1000 TC , he was runner-up behind Dieter Glemser in the German Automobile Circuit Championship (DARM) in 1969 . This was his greatest racing success. He then switched to the Zakspeed team, where he and Willi Sommer drove a Ford Escort 1300 in the German Circuit Championship and, from 1972, a Ford Escort RS 1600 in the subsequent German Racing Championship (DRM). After his five wins in 1972 in the 2nd division of the DRM and 5th place in the overall ranking, Menzel switched to BMW-Motorsport GmbH . In 1973 he drove a BMW 3.0 CSL to three wins in the 1st division. At the end of the season he finished 4th overall and thus achieved his best overall DRM placement. Then he ended his career.

After his career, Menzel took over his parents' Fiat dealership in Dannenberg , which later became a Renault agency.
