Dieter Glemser (born June 28, 1938 in Stuttgart ) is a former German automobile racing driver who was active in touring car races as well as in rallies and the Le Mans 24-hour race . With various touring cars, he became European champion and two-time German racing champion . Before and during his racing career, Glemser worked as a gardener in his parents' company.

Career

His career began in the early 1960s, in the beginning he drove a Porsche 356. In 1963 he won the Poland rally in a Mercedes-Benz 220SE. In 1966 he was a Porsche works driver in the Type 906. In the first half of the 1970s, he had many successes for the Ford brand. After a serious accident as a result of a punctured tire at the touring car race of Macau in November 1974, in which several spectators were injured, Glemser ended his career.
