Alejandro "Àlex" Soler-Roig (born October 29, 1932 in Barcelona ) is a former Spanish Formula 1 racing driver.

Career

Alex Soler-Roig comes from a wealthy medical family. He drove his first car race in 1958 with a Porsche 356 Carrera in Montjuich, where he started three more times at intervals. In 1967 he got into Formula 2, but after little success soon switched to sports cars and sports prototypes. Together with Jochen Rindt , he won the Jarama 6 Hours in a Porsche 908 in 1969 and, with Rudi Lins as a partner, came fourth in the Sebring 12 Hours . In 1970 he - again together with Jochen Rindt - came second in Buenos Aires, also in a Porsche 908.

In 1971 and 1972 Soler-Roig drove a few races in Formula 1 . In 1971 he competed four times for March , in 1972 he competed twice for BRM . Due to technical defects in 1971 and two accidents in 1972, he did not finish in any race and therefore could not achieve a championship point.
