Harald Ogris
Harald Ogris (born November 17, 1933 in Vienna ) is an Austrian hydraulic engineer, university professor and politician ( SPÖ ).
Life
Harald Ogris graduated after 1951 graduated from high school , had at the Technical University of Vienna the profession of civil engineer . In 1957 he acquired the title of graduate engineer , in 1960 that of a doctor .
From 1964 Ogris worked as a civil engineer in the construction industry until he became a lecturer in his subject at the Technical University of Vienna in 1968. In 1972 he became an associate professor at the Institute for Structural Hydraulic Engineering, from 1983 a full professor. 1974 to 1987 Ogris held the office of chairman of the Association of Socialist University Teachers.
In March 1983 he was sworn in as a social democratic member of the Federal Council, to which he was to belong for eight years until December 1991.
