Harald Rathmann

Harald Rathmann is a German actor who became known in the GDR in 1978 for a leading role in the youth film Seven Freckles alongside Kareen Schröter .

Career

In 1978 Rathmann starred in the film Seven Freckles in the role of Robert, the youthful protagonist who sees a childhood friend again at a holiday camp , falls in love with her and, alongside her, takes on the leading role in Romeo and Juliet , the play that was created for the Graduation ceremony is rehearsed. The film was one of DEFA's most successful productions and had more than 1.2 million visitors after its premiere in October 1978 alone. It was the most revealing film that DEFA ever made and aroused the skepticism of the GDR superiors. Rathmann had prevailed in the casting against the then still unknown actor Sven Martinek .
