Kareen Schröter

Kareen Schröter (* 1963 in East Berlin ) is a former German film actress .

While looking for young actors, director Herrmann Zschoche discovered the then 14-year-old student at an East Berlin high school in the early summer of 1977 . He gave her the female lead in his teenage film Seven Freckles, which was filmed in late summer and fall of 1977 and released in 1978 . Two years later, Zschoche used it in his film And next year at Lake Balaton .

Directed by Hans Kratzert , Kareen Schröter starred in the film Mein Vater Alfons in 1980 (based on the children's book of the same name by Günter Ebert ). In 1984 she was seen alongside Jaecki Schwarz , Franziska Troegner , Karin Ugowski and Simone von Zglinicki in a leading role in the television film Oh you my love (director: Georgi Kissimov ). Then Schröter retired from the acting business and studied psychology. In 2003 she was interviewed in front of the camera about her film experiences in her youth in the television documentary Busen, Broiler, Bananen - Jugend in der DDR .
