Harald Theml
Harald Theml (born October 20, 1940 in Berlin ; † October 30, 2005 in Warngau ) was an important physician and specialist in blood and tumor diseases who has also made a name for himself in the peace movement and environmental movement .
Life
Theml studied medicine in Tübingen and Munich, his doctorate took place in 1966, his habilitation in 1977. He worked for Herbert Begemann at the Munich-Schwabing Municipal Hospital, now the Schwabing Clinic in Munich. In 1982 Theml became an associate professor at the Technical University of Munich . From 1984 to 1996 he was chief physician of the haemato-oncological department of the Center for Internal Medicine in the Vincentius Hospitals in Karlsruhe , then until 2004 worked in a free haemato-oncological practice in Munich.
Services
In addition to numerous scientific publications on hemato-oncological topics, including the "Pocket Atlas of Hematology", which has been translated into several languages, he also wrote papers on the topic aimed at a wider audience, most recently "Cancer and the prevention of cancer". He was a founding member of the German Working Group for Psycho-oncology , the Society for Environmental Medicine and the German Section of the IPPNW .
