The Hardt mountain is a 354.4 m high, wooded elevation and is located in the Böller forest in the Wartburg district in Thuringia .

The mountain counts is the highest elevation in the corridor of the village of Sallmannshausen . In the GDR era, the forest area was inaccessible. After the fall of the Wall, the historical course of the Sallmannshausen Rennsteig was reconstructed as a regional hiking trail (label S ). With the help of the Thuringian Forestry Office Gerstungen-Marksuhl, several shelters and rest areas were created. An old road also ran over the mountain to the neighboring town of Lauchröden , and was escorted by Brandenburg, only four kilometers away .
