Harold Cagle
Harold Cagle ( Harold D. Cagle ; born August 3, 1913 in Purcell , Oklahoma , † November 28, 1977 in Sutter , California ) was an American sprinter who mainly competed in the 400-meter run .
In the US elimination match for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he was only sixth, but was still used in the 4 x 400 meter relay , as the team managers put together the relay from runners who had not competed individually . Together with Robert Young , Edward O'Brien and Alfred Fitch , he won the silver medal in 3: 11.0 minutes behind the British relay.
He set his personal best over 440 yards with 46.5 seconds on June 19, 1936 in Chicago .
