Harold Lommer

Harold Maurice Lommer (born November 18, 1904 in London , † December 17, 1980 in Valencia ) was an English chess composer .

Life

Lommer, born to German parents, moved with his family to Geneva at the age of four . After studying in Germany, he returned to England in 1926. After the Second World War he ran a nightclub in Soho, London .

At the age of 12 years Lommer was the Saavedra position for chess enthusiastic. Lommer was engaged in assignments that showed multiple pawn conversions . He wrote two important study anthologies, which he wrote similar to the predecessor A Thousand End Games by Creassey Edward C. Tattersall , and was also active as a chess journalist.
