Harold A. Miller (birth name: Harold Edwin Kammermeyer ; born May 31, 1894 in Redondo Beach , California - † July 18, 1972 in Los Angeles , California) was an American actor who appeared in several silent films between 1919 and 1927, including Mountain Madness (1920), Tipped Off (1923) and Leatherstocking (1924) contributed. After the introduction of the sound film, he took part in over 500 other films, but almost exclusively in "uncredited" supporting roles .

Life

Miller made his acting debut in 1919 as Harold A. Miller in a supporting role in the comedy Upstairs and Down directed by Charles Giblyn starring Olive Thomas , Rosemary Theby and Mary Charleson . He had his more famous roles in silent films of the early 1920s in the crime drama Mountain Madness (1920) directed by Lloyd B. Carleton , in which he played the male lead opposite Mignon Anderson , and in the drama Tipped Off (1923) by Finis Fox , in which he starred alongside Arline Pretty .

In 1924 after the novel The Deerslayer by James Fenimore Cooper resulting film Leatherstocking directed by George B. Seitz , he played the title role . Other roles were Edna Murphy as "Judith Hutter", Whitehorse as "Tom Hutter" and David Dunbar as "Chingachgook".

After a few other roles in silent films, Miller played in more than 500 other films after the introduction of the sound film from 1927 to 1965, but almost only in "uncredited" supporting roles.
