Harold Ruttenberg

Harold Ruttenberg (born 1942 in Johannesburg , † December 28, 2005 in Birmingham , Alabama ) was an American entrepreneur .

Life

Ruttenberg was CEO and founder of the Just for Feet chain of stores . Since it was founded in 1988 , 300 stores with around 8,000 employees have sprung up in America. Fortune Magazine named Just for Feet the 6th fastest growing American company in 1997 . Until bankruptcy in 1999 , Just for Feet was the second largest chain of athletic shoes in the United States . The bankruptcy drew some investigations, with one of his sons, Don-Allen, being convicted.

After the bankruptcy of Amalgamated Concepts, Harold Ruttenberg founded the Copper Grill and Crepes Egg-setera restaurants. In the spring of 2005 , Crepes Egg-setera was sold to Arman DeLorenz, who closed the restaurants in September 2005. Amalgamated Concepts continues to operate the Copper Grill.

Ruttenberg left behind his wife Pam and sons Don-Allen and Warren as well as his daughter Jodi. He died of a brain tumor .
