Harold Smallwood
Harold Smallwood ( Robert Harold Smallwood; born March 24, 1915 in San Luis Obispo , † April 20, 1985 in Oxnard ) was an American sprinter who had specialized in the 400-meter run .
At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he qualified for the semi-finals, but could not compete because of appendicitis .
In 1936 he became US champion. He set his personal best of 46.4 s on June 19, 1936 in Chicago .
