Harold Wright (athlete)
Harold Wright ( Harold Madison Wright; born December 10, 1908 in Winnipeg , † December 11, 1997 in Vancouver ) was a Canadian sprinter and sports official .
At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, he was fourth in the 4 x 100 meter relay . He reached the semi-finals over 100 m and 200 m .
From 1969 to 1977 he was President of the Canadian Olympic Association . In 1979 he received the Olympic medal in silver. In 1986 he became Companion of the Order of Canada , and in 1987 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Canadian Sports .
His son Lee Wright was successful as a hockey player and his daughter-in-law Thelma Wright as a medium and long-distance runner.
