Artistic stations

Harriet Ohlsson grew up in Gothenburg. In 1992 she tried her hand at the theater, learning the oboe, flute, double bass and her main instrument, the saxophone.

For a few years she toured Sweden with the klezmer band Chutzpah . She played in various bands and eventually began studying music at the Gothenburg Music Academy, with a focus on Balkan music . While studying, she discovered her passion for singing.

In 2004 she founded the band Hellsongs with Johan Bringhed and Kalle Karlsson , which only plays jazz and pop covers of metal songs. At the same time she sang in the project Harriet and the Harbringers in Gothenburg. She also toured Germany with Hellsongs.

In spring 2005 she founded the Quartet Harriet and the Harbringers as a side project. The group from Gothenburg mainly plays singer-songwriter pieces, slower tempo and mostly acoustic.

After she left Hellsongs in 2009, she started her own solo project. Their debut album Arena Rock was announced for April 2010, but was not released until August 2010 in Sweden. She wrote all the songs for this album herself except Now That We Found Love , a cover for The O'Jays . For Arena Rock , she recorded all the instruments (piano, synthesizer, accordion, harmonica, saxophone, percussion, some guitar and ukulele) herself. She worked intensively on the album for nine months. The album was created in very different places with very different moods: in kitchens, while cooking, after cycling, in deadly sad moods and happy rounds. Post-production and mix was done by Petter Eriksson at Studio Singh in Gothenburg. The name Arena Rock goes back to a guitar effect in the GarageBand music software that she used to record the album.
