GarageBand is a software application from Apple for music production . It is part of the iLife range and is intended for use at home.

The program enables the user to produce their own pieces quickly and easily. These are essentially three different components: a large collection of ready-made already by Apple audio - and MIDI - Loops included. With the help of an audio interface , real instruments such as B. electric guitar , bass or vocals can be recorded. In some cases, preamplifiers are still required here. GarageBand 3 was introduced on January 10, 2006. In this version, the focus is on the podcast topic . GarageBand 4 was introduced on August 7, 2007. In addition to new functions such as multi-take recordings, arrangements, visual EQ and support for 24-bit audio, Magic GarageBand is also introduced.
