The Magix Music Maker is a digital audio workstation that was designed by the Magix company for the consumer sector. It was designed as an amateur version of the professional music software Samplitude from the same developers and first appeared in 1994. Like Samplitude, the Music Maker can take over the functions of a sequencer program in music production , but the software now focuses more on the use of ready-made loops . With more than a million copies sold, the Music Maker is considered Europe's most successful music program.

Functions

In addition to stringing together pre-made sound loops (mostly in OGG or WAV format), the newer versions of the Music Maker also include an ASIO interface. VST synthesizers can also be integrated into the program. Further equipment features are:

  • 99 tracks (live edition: unlimited)
  • Audio import, recording and editing
  • Sound pool with different music styles (expandable through the extensive online library catooh.com)
  • Mixer (stereo and surround), remixer , MIDI editor , synthesizer , virtual instruments , mastering
  • Creating music videos, uploading them to YouTube from within the program
  • Live pad mode (only in the live edition)
