Harrisia eriophora is a species of plant in the genus Harrisia fromthe cactus family (Cactaceae). The specific epithet eriophora means '(lat. Eriophorus) wool-bearing'. A common name is "Fragrant Prickly Apple".

Harrisia eriophora grows shrubby and often forms dense groups with upright, arched or spreading shoots with heights of 3 to 5 meters. The initially bright green shoots later turn dark green. They have a diameter of up to 4 centimeters and more. There are eight to twelve protruding ribs that are deeply indented in between. The six to 13 needle-like, light brown, gray or yellow thorns have a darker tip and are 2 to 4 centimeters long.
The flowers reach a length of 12 to 18 centimeters. Your flower tube is covered with a few scales and long, white hair . The obovate to spherical, yellow to cloudy red fruits are edible. They have a diameter of up to 6 centimeters.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Harrisia eriophora is common in the United States in the state of Florida and in Cuba .
It was first described as Cereus eriophorus in 1837 by Ludwig Georg Karl Pfeiffer . Nathaniel Lord Britton placed the species in the genus Harrisia in 1908 .
In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
