Harro Jacob

Harro Jacob (* 1939 in Hanover ) is a German art professor, sculptor and painter .

Life

Harro Jacob took private lessons with Karl Bobek from 1959 to 1961 and studied from 1961 at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, among others with Hans Jaenisch and Peter Janssen . Since 1963 he has been experimenting with fiberglass-reinforced polyester .

Until 1980 he was a member of the Zebra group , an association of realistic painters and sculptors, and until 2005 professor at the Berlin University of the Arts . Since 2005 he has been working in his studio in the manor Gollma / Landsberg (Saalekreis) / Saxony-Anhalt . Together with 29 other professors, some of his work took part in the UdK Berlin - Faculty of Fine Arts as part of the 50th anniversary of the Karl Hofer Society in 2005/2006.

Works (selection)

  • In 1988 Jacob designed the memorial, known as the ruin garden , in the courtyard of the main building of the University of the Arts in memory of the 1938 pogroms .
