Harry Hahn

Harry Hahn (born January 30, 1915 in Lodz , Congress Poland ; † January 28, 2003 in Stuttgart ) was a German chemist and professor at the universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart .

Life

After graduating from the German High School in Lodz in 1933 , Hahn studied chemistry at the TH Danzig , and in 1937 he moved to Heidelberg University , where he worked as a research assistant. At the University of Danzig he was awarded a Dr. Ing. PhD. In 1940 Hahn was drafted into the Wehrmacht and participated in the Russian campaign. After the end of the war, Hahn completed his habilitation in chemistry at the University of Heidelberg, switched to teaching at the University of Kiel in 1946 and accepted the position at the University of Würzburg in 1959 . He was appointed to the chair of chemistry at the Hohenheim Agricultural University in 1963. As a lecturer in chemistry at the University of Stuttgart, he was also appointed honorary professor there in 1964. Harry Hahn retired in 1980. In 1981 he became an honorary member of the Corps Germania Hohenheim .
