Life

Harry Waxman, who immediately became a film development assistant after graduating from high school and then, after several years as a camera assistant, was a cameraman mainly for documentaries, photographed his first film as chief cameraman in 1945. Waxman earned a reputation for numerous productions as an accomplished and experienced cameraman without recognizable creative and innovative demands. Assignments as the person responsible for the second unit in large-scale productions such as Khartoum remained the exception in his professional life. From 1966 to 1969 he was President of the British Society of Cinematographers .
