The Harrys River is a 40 km long tributary of St. George's Bay in the southwest of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador .

River course

The Harrys River forms the drain of the 148  m high Georges Lake . It leaves this at its southwestern end and flows in a predominantly southwestern direction to its mouth. After about 10 km, the river passes Gallants Parish , which is on the right bank, and then joins North Brook from the right. Route 460 crosses the river 11.5 km above the mouth . The Harrys River finally flows into the north west bank of an estuary at Stephenville Crossing , which opens to St. George's Bay, a bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence .
