Hartcheshofen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hartcheshofen (also: Hartgeshofen ) is a deserted area in the old Maingau on the district of Dietzenbach in the Offenbach district in Hesse .

Hartcheshofen is believed to have been founded in the second Merovingian settlement period. Due to the name "Auf Hartgeshofen am Lotzenbornspfad" for a parcel south of Dietzenbach, the former location is assumed there. The place was probably already desolate in the 14th century.

A key from the Carolingian period found in 1960 is attributed to Hartcheshofen.

With Ippingshausen and Richolshausen, there are two other deserted areas in the Dietzenbach area.
