Atractylis cancellata , also known in German as lattice spindle herb , is a species of the genus spindle herb ( Atractylis ) and thus the sunflower family (Asteraceae).
features
Atractylis cancellata is an annual stem therophyte that reaches heights of growth of 5 to 25 centimeters. The stem axis is white felted and balding. The leaves are narrow, elongated and toothed with thorns. The upper leaves are shorter to slightly longer than the envelope. The shell is 5 to 22 millimeters in size. The middle bracts are regularly comb thorny and envelop grid similar to the head.
The flowering period extends from April to July.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20.
Occurrence
Atractylis cancellata occurs in the Mediterranean region. The species grows on Phrygana and dry fallow land on limestone at altitudes from 0 to 900 meters.
