Hartmann Jacobi

Hartmann Jacobi , ennobled as Jacobi von Ehrencron (* 1617 in Wohnbach ; † June 9, 1680 in Mainz ) was a German administrative lawyer and chancellor.

Life

Hartmann Jacobi, who holds a doctorate in law, was Privy Councilor and Vice Chancellor and Director of the Gießen office when he received and accepted the appointment of the Lübeck Council on February 16, 1668 as Syndicus of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck . However, his release from Hessian services was by Landgrave Ludwig VI. von Hessen-Darmstadt refused while Jacobi was promoted to Hessian Chancellor, so that he did not take up his service in Lübeck. He also worked as a professor at the University of Giessen.

He converted to Catholicism and was elevated to imperial nobility on September 12, 1676.
